Crew Sourcing

Indonesia offers a limited pool of local crew for production. You can get local directors, still photographers, and directors of photography within the country. However, most of the available crews are not fluent English speakers. Therefore, large scale productions require bringing in the bulk of your crew from outside Indonesia.

Land of Blessings

The Story

“Land of Blessings,” directed by Adisurya Abdy (Asabellina Film), is set against the picturesque backdrop of Lamongan Regency in East Java, Indonesia.

Produced by Ibrahim L. Kadir (Kinokkonik Films) in January 2023, Land of Blessings explores the cultural traditions of farmers, emphasizing their gratitude to God and prayers for their ancestors’ forgiveness in the afterlife.

Lamongan is the Land of Blessings.

Lamongan, a district in East Java, is rich in natural resources, spanning the agricultural, plantation, and marine sectors. Beyond its abundant resources, Lamongan is also home to a wealth of arts, culture, and traditions. Its historical and religious tourism, along with its culinary delights, rival those of other regions in East Java.

This drama-documentary delves into Lamongan’s golden past, its traditions, culture, and arts, highlighting the inspiring way of life of its people, which serves as a role model for the nation and the Republic of Indonesia.

In Land of Blessings, Lamongan is depicted as a vibrant, prosperous region—”Gemah Ripah Loh Jinawi”—a land blessed by God, truly deserving its title as the Land of Blessings.

Saat

The Story

The film Saat was directed by Ungke Kaumbur, with the screenplay written by Frans Sumagan Hasibuan. Ibrahim L. Kadir served as the producer.

The short film Saat adopts a ‘Cinema-Pure’ concept, relying almost entirely on visual storytelling with minimal dialogue. All messages are conveyed through “Semiotic Language,” consisting of a series of deeply meaningful scenes. The film was selected as an Official Selection at the First-Time Filmmaker Sessions @ Pinewood Studios 2022 in the United Kingdom.

A woman is driving a car with the help of an unknown man. As time passes, unexpected events begin to unfold.

Saat is a drama film with minimal or almost no dialogue, telling a story of altruism with a somber conclusion. The film challenges the conventional belief that only those suspected of malevolence are incapable of performing virtuous deeds, leading to an unexpected ending. It aims to show the audience that the realm of possibilities is vast and unpredictable. Additionally, the film highlights that acts of kindness and assistance, while well-intentioned, do not always lead to happiness. Sometimes, those who receive benevolence must face a harsh reality.

About The Company

Founded by Ibrahim L. Kadir in 2015, Kinokkonik started as a small personal business under the original name of Kinokkonik, operating under the supervision of CV. Telegram Nusantara, also founded by Ibrahim L. Kadir. In 2018, Ibrahim rebranded the business as Kinokkonik Creative Idea, focusing primarily on event organization and creative video production.

In 2019, Kinokkonik Creative Idea evolved into Kinokkonik Film. By 2022, it officially transitioned from a small personal business to a formal company, PT. Kinokkonik Film Studio, operating under the brand “KINOKKONIK FILMS.”

Together with a few of his friends—Budi, Tabitha, Benq, and Agam—Ibamzs (Ibrahim’s familiar nickname) founded this film company to compete with similar companies in the art of filmmaking.
